FREEDOM
freedom_quote_3.jpg

-->WHAT DOES FREEDOM MEAN?

The idea of freedom is closely linked to property and the right to do whatever you want. At home, the individual feels freed from social obligations, from the pressure of society, from rules and authority.

-->HAS FREEDOM GOT LIMITS?

In our opinion freedom is necessary but all of us need some rules which we have to respect. If there weren't rules this will be a disaster.

-->CAN WE TALK ABOUT:`FEAR OF FREEDOM´?

Many people is afraid of being free. Many of them have lived and will live without freedom all their lives because of their city rules. In some cases a lot of them are killed because of their thinking form.
Erich Fromm sees right to the heart of our contradictory needs for community and for freedom like no other writer before or since. In “Fear of Freedom”, Fromm warns that the price of community is indeed high, and it is the individual who pays. Fascism and authoritarianism may seem like receding shadows for some, but are cruel realities for many. Erich Fromm leaves a valuable and original legacy to his readers - a vastly increased understanding of the human character in relation to society.

-->SOME IMPORTANT PEOPLE HAVE GIVEN THEIR OPINION. GET AT LEAST THREE DIFFERENT ONES.
ABRAHAM LINCOLN:
(1809 – 1865) President of US during the American civil war. Lincoln made the famous Emancipation Proclamation (1863) – declaring “that all persons held as slaves” within the rebellious states “are, and henceforward shall be free.” – This proclamation was followed by the 13th Amendment to the US Constitution (1865) outlawing slavery.
FREDERICK DOUGLASS
(1818-1895) Douglass was a former slave who became committed to working for the emancipation of all slaves and ending the injustice of slavery and racism in America. He gave many stirring speeches criticising injustice and raising the hope for a nation where all people were treated equally regardless of race, sex or religion.
NELSON MANDELA
(1918 – 2013) Anti-apartheid leader. Mandela, spent over twenty years in jail for his opposition to the racist apartheid system which excluded blacks from many areas of society. He was elected the first President of democratic South Africa in 1994. - “I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all persons live together in harmony and with equal opportunities.” – Nelson Mandela.
-->NOT EVERYBODY IS FREE. SOME CANNOT CHOOSE.

In some countries people have not much money. They´re very poor, they haven't got money to eat. Poor people have not freedom, they are all the day slaving, without any charge. They don't know what freedom is. They have been all their lives been slaves. They have not own thoughts. Here there is one example:
-Human rights in North Korea are severely restricted. International human rights organizations assess North Korea as a category of its own with no parallel in the contemporary world when it comes to human rights violations. Despite numerous rights being enshrined in the country's constitution, in practice there is no right to free speech, and the only radio, television, music and news providers that are deemed legal are those
operated by the government.
- Human rights in Burma under its military regime have long been regarded as among the worst in the world.International human rights organisations including Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science have repeatedly documented and condemned widespread human rights violations in Burma.

-->EXPLAIN WHAT YOU UNDERSTAND FOR FREEDOM

I think that there isn't any definition of freedom. Some think that freedom is the ability to do things on their own, without being forced or compromised in any way. But aren't we all guarded by the laws of the countries?
