ETHICS
To be free means that you have all the rights to do something
that you want, and no-one has to say to you anything about something that you
do.
This period
of time that we live in, we have not any
freedom, and we are slowly having less
and less of it. But I think that freedom has got limits because the liberty
here isn´t same that in Africa for example.
In many parts of the world people have fought for
the freedoms they now possess. Yes, it is true of America, but it is also true
for many other countries around the world. Freedoms are personal, religious and
the ideals of pursuing happiness. There are those, however, who absolutely fear
the notion of freedom. This fear is known as Eleutherophobia.
JOHN STUART MILL
Mill´s On Liberty addresses the nature and limits
of the power that can be legimitaly exercised by society over the individual.
NELSON MANDELA
He won freedom for black people in South Africa.
Human rights in Burma under its military regime have long been
regarded as among the worst in the world. International human rights
organisations including Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, and
the American Association for the Advancement of Science have
repeatedly documented and condemned widespread human rights violations in
Burma. The Freedom in the World 2011 report by Freedom
House notes that "The military junta has... suppressed nearly all
basic rights; and committed human rights abuses with impunity." In 2011
the "country's more than 2,100 political prisoners included about 429 members
of the NLD, the victors in the 1990 elections." As of July 2013,
according to the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners, there
were about 100 political prisoners in Burmese prisons.
PERSONAL OPINION
I understand for freedom that is what you need to
live your life. It is neccessary. Freedom must be in all the continents of our
planet, but unfortunately, there isn´t freedom in many of countries. Freedom is
doing what you want, and no-one has to say to you anything about what you can
do or can’t do.
